Event Details

Over eighty-five percent of the reading and writing we do as adults is nonfiction, yet most of the reading and writing in K-3 classrooms is fiction or personal narrative. In Tony Stead's wonderful book, Is That a Fact?, the author shares his experience broadening K-3 reading and writing to include nonfiction in authentic and meaningful ways.

In this 15-hour course, teachers will learn how to introduce young students to the many different purposes of nonfiction writing, as well as ways to help them plan, compose, revise, and publish nonfiction narrative.  If you are interested in incorporating more nonfiction into your curriculum, this is a book for you!
